Last updated: November 3, 2026

This policy explains what information Beachside Web Devs (https://beachsidewebdevs.com) collects when you visit, why, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact reid@reidchatham.com.

Who is responsible

Beachside Web Devs is responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at reid@reidchatham.com.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us, such as your name, email address and message when you contact us, leave a comment, subscribe or place an order.
  • Technical information our server records automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use it to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse.
  • Visit statistics, only if you allow them. See “Cookies and similar technologies” below.
  • Advertising and email-campaign measurement, only if you allow it. See “Cookies and similar technologies” below.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work (for example, keeping you logged in or keeping items in a shopping cart). These do not require consent.

Statistics. With your permission we use visit-statistics tools (such as Jetpack Stats from Automattic and, where enabled, Google Analytics) to understand which pages are visited. These tools are not loaded until you choose “Accept all” or turn on Statistics.

Marketing. With your permission we use tools from partners (such as Google Ads through Kliken, and Mailchimp) to measure advertising and email campaigns. These tools are not loaded until you choose “Accept all” or turn on Marketing. Using them may count as “selling” or “sharing” personal information under some US state laws.

If this site takes payments, the checkout page loads our payment providers’ scripts (such as Stripe, WooPayments and PayPal), which may set cookies and collect device information to process payments and prevent fraud. These are needed to complete a purchase. Images and some scripts are delivered through Automattic’s content delivery network (WordPress.com), which receives your IP address when it serves them.

Embedded videos (YouTube, Vimeo) are not loaded until you click to play them, because those services may set their own cookies.

We remember your choice in the sc_consent cookie for six months, then ask again. You can change it at any time using the Privacy choices link on every page.

Your choices and rights

  • Opt out of sale or sharing. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal: if your browser sends it, marketing tools stay off. You can also opt out with the Your Privacy Choices link.
  • Access, correction and deletion. You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing reid@reidchatham.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
  • EU, UK and EEA visitors. We process your information on the basis of your consent where we ask for it, to perform a contract with you (such as an order), or for our legitimate interest in running a secure website. You can withdraw consent at any time, object to processing, ask us to restrict it or to transfer your data, and complain to your local data protection authority.

Who we share information with

We use service providers to host this site and, where applicable, to process payments and send email. They may only use the information to provide their service to us. Some of them are in the United States.

We do not sell your personal information except as described under Marketing above, which only happens with your consent.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law (for example, order records for tax purposes).

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EU), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top.
